High Tech Magnetic tiles a new fitting flooring technique

By Kevin G on March 20, 2014

The Iobac system is a sustainable way to floor interiors and was created through the partnership of Interface, Kardean and 3M. This magnetised and metallised flooring technology is more cost effective due to its lack of traditional adhesive construction.  This reusable and is easy to store flooring method is very versatile and due to its flexible and mobile nature is the perfect flooring solution for many environments including hotels, bars and restaurants. Different flooring designs can be achieved and changed. Additionally, a previously achieved floor space design can be duplicated again and again for say, seasonal purposes through this innovative, modern and creative interior design solution.

With regards to floor finishes IOBAC have a paramagnetic resin sub floor coating system and enables you to install and reinstall floors quickly in an environmentally friendly way.

Materials of a paramagnetic nature include tantalum, magnesium, lithium and molybdenum and have a slight positive susceptibility to magnetic fields. At absolute zero certain paramagnetic materials remain as they are at ground state and retain spin disorder. Spin orientation is of randomised nature with regards to thermal motion and this is why unlike ferromagnetism, in the absence of an applied external magnetic field paramagnets do not retain any magnetism.
